Scott Community College will be packaging food for needy individuals and families in the local community on Thursday, December 8th at 10 a.m., in the Student Life Center (Belmont Campus). The faculty, staff, and students at Scott Community College will be working with The Outreach Program from Des Moines, Iowa to package meals for families and individuals in our local community this holiday season. The latest Feeding America statistics state that one-in-six people in America are food insecure. The goal for the event is to raise awareness about the rising issue of hunger and food insecurity in our area and give back this holiday season by distributing 2,000 meals in to the community. If you would like to sign-up to receive meals, please contact Christy Davis, Social Worker for the City of Bettendorf at 563-344-4041.
