BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 6, 2020) — The Ascentra Credit Union Scholarship Competition is underway for the 2020-2021 school year. A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to ten Ascentra members to help offset the costs of attending a college or university or even trade school. DES MOINES, IOWA (November 4, 2020) — The Iowa Workforce Development announced the Carroll IowaWORKS office will relocate to a new facility at 504 Hwy 39 North in Denison. The Denison IowaWORKS center will officially open on January 2, 2021.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 26, 2020) — Thousands of students across Iowa will cast ballots for their preferred presidential and congressional candidates in the upcoming Iowa Youth Straw Poll. On Tuesday, October 27, one week before Election Day, Secretary of State Paul Pate will poll students on their preferred choices. More than 250 schools have registered to participate so far.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 23, 2020) — Due to Iowa's economic recovery, the US Department of Labor has notified Iowa that it has "triggered off" of the unemployment Extended Benefits (EB) program, making Iowans no longer eligible for the program. This means Iowa's insured unemployment rate has averaged below 5% for the last 13 weeks.
