DES MOINES, IOWA (February 3, 2021) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) released its annual, non-partisan review of the state’s economic climate. Known as Iowa’s Competitive Dashboard, the report measures the state’s standing nationally in five categories: economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and demographics and diversity.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 28, 2021) — The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, January 17, and Saturday, January 23, was 5,510, a decrease of 870 from last week’s adjusted numbers.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 26, 2021) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 3.1 percent in December, a large drop from the November revised rate of 3.8 percent. The state’s jobless rate was 2.8 percent one year ago. The US unemployment rate remained at 6.7 percent in December.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 21, 2021) — The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, January 10, and Saturday, January 16, was 6,785, a decrease of 581 from last week’s adjusted numbers.
