DES MOINES, IOWA (July 25, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has issued the following statement after a federal judge has blocked changes to Title IX rules issued by the Biden-Harris administration to change the definition of “sex” to “gender identity” which would allow access to bathrooms and locker rooms based on gender identification. Iowa joined the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota in filing a lawsuit on May 7 opposing the rule.
