“Your Course to College” walks high school students and their families through the steps to higher education

Iowa College Aid today announced the release of the 2017-18 edition of “Your Course to College.” This free guide helps high school students and their families navigate the complex process of getting to college. The 70 pages are divided into four chapters:

GALESBURG, IL (08/18/2017)-- Isaiah Smith of Muscatine, IA, (ZIP Code: 52761) has been named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season.

Smith, whose major at Knox College is Undecided, was recognized for academic performance while a Prairie Fire athlete in Football.

In the last 20 years, small schools facing budget cuts often removed elective classes. This left skills like cooking and growing fruits and vegetables unlearned.

Center for Rural Affairs’ Greenhouse to Cafeteria program has been a solution for schools that have faced those decisions in the past. Not only does it fill a hole left in the curriculum, it also means healthier foods are served at lunch.

DAVENPORT, IOWA — A new Master of Science in Exercise Physiology program has been added to the graduate curriculum as St. Ambrose University prepares for a new academic year.

The new year at St. Ambrose begins with evening classes Aug. 21.  First-year students will arrive on campus a day earlier. Daytime courses begin Aug. 23.

SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Tony McCombie (IL-71st) released the following statement on the education funding reform bill that failed in the Illinois House of Representatives today: “Rather than work together on a compromise to fairly and equitably fund our schools, legislators presented a bill to make a statement and put politics ahead of our students and school districts.

KENOSHA, WI (08/15/2017)-- Moline student Ariana Raya performed a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience at Carthage College.

The project was titled "Mathematical Model for Magnetism".
