DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 30, 2019) — The State of Iowa has announced that individuals in Scott County impacted by the severe weather (heavy rains, hail, wind-damage, and flash-flooding) beginning May 17, 2019 and on-going, may be eligible for assistance from the State of Iowa through The Iowa Assistance Grant Program and The Disaster Case Management Program.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 28, 2019) — The Flood Assistance Center event scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2019. at the former Office Max building near Northpark Mall is being postponed due to rising flood-waters and response needed by participating agencies. This event will be rescheduled at a later date.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 24, 2019) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is reporting that the continued rainfall, saturated ground-conditions, and the potential for several rounds of thunderstorms over the weekend, will lead to rising river levels. The Mississippi River is continuing to rise and potentially increase to a level between 20.5 feet and 23 feet at the Rock Island location as soon as May 31 (see second link below). DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 30, 2019)  The next meeting of the Quad Cities Flood Resiliency Alliance will be held on May 30, 2019 at 1:30PM in the City Hall Community Room in Riverdale, Iowa. The Alliance is open to the public and is a forum for timely and educational information on flood-prevention, mitigation, flood-insurance, and flood-plain management.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — City of Davenport will observe Memorial Day as a holiday on Monday, May 27th, 2019.

All City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed.

Police Department front desk and records office will be closed.

Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed.

Parks and Recreation administrative offices will be closed.

River’s Edge and all golf courses will be open.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — The Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is hosting a town-hall meeting in Le Claire, Iowa on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, to discuss the aftermath of the Mississippi and Wapsipinicon floods, the needs of residents, and recovery steps that will take place in the upcoming weeks.

Residents living in the Le Claire, Princeton, and the unincorporated areas of Scott County impacted by the flooding are all invited to attend.

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (May 17, 2019) — After historic flooding in northern Illinois, including a record-breaking crest in Rock Island County, the State of Illinois is urging residents in and around the flood-zones to take precautions as the clean-up begins. As residents begin to return home, it is important that people in these areas protect themselves from disease and other environmental hazards often associated with flood-waters.

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (May 17, 2019) — A Flood Assistance Center, also referred to as a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC), will open in Rock Island County next week to help residents get back on their feet following recent historic floods. The Flood Assistance Center is a one-stop-shop for flood victims to access disaster-related relief-services and information. The Flood Assistance Center brings together representatives from local and state agencies and essential support organizations.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 17, 2019) — The Scott County Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the local coalition Quad Cities Community Organizations Active in Disaster, will be opening the Scott County Flood Assistance Center to offer relief and recovery resources to those impacted by recent flooding.
