SCOTT COUNTY, IA — Tell us how we are doing! The Waste Commission of Scott County and Personal Marketing Research will conduct a follow up survey on recycling in the coming weeks.  400 Residents of Scott County will be contacted by phone to participate in a brief recycling survey. This is a follow up to a recycling survey that was completed in May 2013.

Today, Corri Spiegel, Davenport City Administrator is pleased to announce that she has selected Michael Carlsten as Davenport’s Fire Chief.

Gov. Reynolds releases statement after signing heartbeat bill

Starting Wednesday, May 2 the right northbound lane of Division Street just north of 4th Street, and the right westbound lane of 4th Street at Division will be closed for stormwater intake and pipe repairs.  The work is estimated to be completed by Wednesday, May 9.  Travel delays are possible.

Across rural Iowa, folks who live away from urban centers often have struggles getting assistance from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) when an emergency occurs. Patients in rural areas have the same acute and chronic medical conditions requiring an emergency response as those in urban areas do, however many rural EMS agencies face unique challenges in delivering quality care. Additionally, rural EMS agencies may be the closest, or even the only healthcare provider for these areas.

SPRINGFIELD – The annual Illinois Peace Officers Memorial Service to honor law enforcement officers killed in Illinois in the line of duty, including six who died in 2017, will be held Thursday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the Illinois Peace Officer Memorial sculpture on the Illinois State Capitol grounds in Springfield.

Out of an initial field of 27 candidates, three semifinalists will interview for the position of Davenport Fire Chief next week.
