(DES MOINES, April 7, 2017) – Gov. Terry Branstad today signed the following 8 bills into law:

The Jaycees of the Quad-Cities has announced its Community Awards, showcasing individual excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work and inspiration of others.

Award winners are:

Davenport may soon have to certify to the federal government that it is not a sanctuary city to continue to qualify for federal funding. If a majority vote of the city Council certifies Davenport is not a sanctuary city and later a federal investigation legally finds Davenport is a sanctuary city because its police force does not actively detain, arrest, impound the cars, and turn over to the County Sheriff unlicensed, uninsured drivers for an ICE deportation hearing.

CHICAGO - Governor Bruce Rauner today announced he has made appointments and reappointments to the Illinois State Board of Elections, and an appointment to the Illinois Racing Board.

Position: Board Member - State Board of Elections

Governor Bruce Rauner has appointed Kate O'Brien to the Illinois State Board of Elections. O'Brien's experience as an attorney will be invaluable to the board.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Terry Branstad today signed the following 9 bills into law:

City of Davenport will observe Good Friday as a holiday on Friday, April 14, 2017.

All City of Davenport offices & Public Works Center will be closed.

Police Department front desk and records office will be closed.

Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed.

Parks & Recreation administrative offices will be closed.

River’s Edge will be open from 7am – 10:00pm, front desk will be open from 7am – 7pm.

--Cadets allow ISP to send more resources to Chicagoland area--

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner today highlighted the approval of two Illinois State Police (ISP) Cadet classes, and reaffirmed the administration's continued support for the ISP and public safety. He proclaimed April 1, 2017 Illinois State Police Day in Illinois to honor the 95th anniversary of the creation of the ISP.

(DES MOINES) – Governor Terry E. Branstad today announced appointments to Iowa’s Boards and Commissions.  The following individuals’ appointments are effective today, Wednesday, March 29, are unpaid and are not subject to Iowa Senate Confirmation:

North Fairmount Street will be closed from 7am to 3pm to SOUTHBOUND traffic only starting Tuesday, March 28th to allow for cleaning of the west ditch line. Estimated completion date is Thursday, March 30th.
