Rolling day time closures of side streets to the east of Brady between River Dr and 7th St will occur for the remainder of the day today (Monday, June 5th) and tomorrow for pavement milling work. Traffic delays are likely during these rolling closures.

Public Safety Officers Benefits Improvement Act reduces delays in processing survivor benefits

CHICAGO - Governor Bruce Rauner today announced he has made appointments to the State Board of Investment, Illinois State Police Merit Board, Illinois Criminal Justice Authority, Illinois Housing Development Authority, Illinois Criminal Justice Authority, the Employment Security Board of Review and the State Universities Retirement System Board of Trustees.

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner today vetoed Senate Bill 19 due to an agreement between the Department of Corrections and the Illinois Nurses Association. As a result of good faith negotiations, both sides reached an agreement on an alternative to subcontracting that was fair to taxpayers and state employees.

This year's Iowa Quad Cities Law Enforcement Camp will be June 12 - June 16 at the Davenport Police Department; 416 Harrison Street. The camp is for anyone ages 16 to 24 interested in a career in law enforcement.
Spaces are limited to the first 30 approved applicants so get your applications before the June 1st deadline.

ROCK ISLAND – Broadway Historic District’s Spring Clean Up will be Saturday, May 20, 2016. Participants should meet at 908 20th St., Rock Island, in the alley at 8:30 a.m.

Broadway hosts cleanups twice a year to help reduce litter in the historic neighborhood which borders downtown Rock Island and to bring residents together.
