State Senator Neil Anderson and State Representative Tony McCombie are hosting a free Senior Fair on Tuesday, June 27 featuring approximately 40 local and state participants. The event will be held on Tuesday, June 27 from 9:00am-12:00pm at Challand Middle School located at 1700 6th Avenue in Sterling.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday that she will appoint Jerry Foxhoven, a well-known and highly respected leader in child protection and family law, to serve as director of the Iowa Department of Human Services. Foxhoven will begin his new position Thursday.

The Scott County Conservation Board will be hosting the QC Triathlon on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at West Lake Park. Roads going into and out of the park, to include 110th Ave, will be closed at times to traffic during the race. The race starts at 7:00am and the park is normally clear by noon. Summit Campground (located in Gate #1) is used for parking participants and spectators, along with all other available parking.
