Program has resulted in economic growth, revitalization for Aurora, East St. Louis, Elgin, Peoria, Rockford

AURORA (Aug. 18, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed Senate Bill 1783, bipartisan legislation that extends the River Edge Redevelopment Zone tax credit program. The tax credit program has helped preserve historic buildings and grow local economies in the five communities where the credit is applicable: Aurora, East St. Louis, Elgin, Peoria and Rockford.

Davenport pools are closing.  Dohse is already closed, Fejervary closes after the Doggy Dip tonight and Annie Wittenmyer closes Sunday, August 20.

Two bills will help reduce the number of local units of government, but more resident empowerment needed

OAK BROOK (Aug. 14, 2017) – Today, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed Senate Bill 3 and House Bill 607, two bills that enable local officials to consolidate units of local government.

You are invited to attend our next Neighborhood Roundtable, this Saturday, August 19th at 9:15am at the Main Library. Rich Oswald, Director of the City’s Neighborhood Services Division, and Sgt. Andrew Harris with the NETS unit of the Police Department will be our guest speakers and cover topics such as what to do about vacant/abandoned buildings in your neighborhood, problem rental units and neighborhood safety information. We hope to see you there!

The community is invited to participate in shaping the future of the City’s pedestrian, bicycle and shared-use trail environment at one, or both, of our Davenport Go Design Studio work sessions.

The Design Studio Work Sessions will be held:
