Beginning Wednesday, June 28th sewer repair work will begin at the intersection of Telegraph & Waverly. The intersection will be closed to all traffic. Waverly, north of Telegraph, will only be open to local traffic and a posted detour will be in place.
Work is tentatively scheduled to be completed in 10 business days.
The city of Davenport will observe Independence Day as a holiday on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed. Police Department front desk and records office will be closed. Parks and Recreation administrative offices and River’s Edge facility will be closed. Adler Theatre box office will be closed. Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed. Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed. CitiBus service will not be provided.

Scott County Regional Authority awarded the Scott County Sheriff’s Office $10,200 in the fall of 2016 to upgrade their current light trailer with 21st Century technology. This funding enabled the Sheriff’s Office to replace an outdated lighting system with new technology and provide more lighting.

To assist residents with cleanup efforts following last week's storm, the City is waiving the yard waste sticker requirement for all yard wastes placed for collection the week of June 19th through June 23rd. Yard wastes must still be placed in a Kraft-ply bag for collection.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday that she will appoint Jerry Foxhoven, a well-known and highly respected leader in child protection and family law, to serve as director of the Iowa Department of Human Services. Foxhoven will begin his new position Thursday.
