Gov. Reynolds announces appointees to Iowa’s boards and commissions

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced appointees to Iowa’s boards and commissions Friday.

The following appointments are unpaid and are not subject to Senate confirmation:

District 1B Judicial Nomination Commission:

Chelle Adkins, Cedar Falls

District 5A Judicial Nomination Commission:

Tyler De Haan, Urbandale

District 7 Judicial Nomination Commission:

Monica McHugh, Zwingle

TRAFFIC ALERT: Significant Short Term Closures This Week on 53rd Street and also on Marquette Street

Marquette Street in Davenport will be closed at the railroad tracks on 5th Street for work on the railroad tracks. Follow signed detours. Closure will begin Tuesday, July 11th; work is estimated to be complete Friday, July 14th.

Gov. Reynolds meets with Cabinet members

Wednesday, June 28, 2017  (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Gov. Kim Reynolds met with several members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet Wednesday in Washington, D.C., to discuss issues important to Iowans.

She met with U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Rick Perry. The two talked about the importance of a diversified energy portfolio. Iowa has used its diversified energy portfolio to become a leader in biofuels and wind energy generation.

Traffic Alert: Waverly & Telegraph in Davenport

Beginning Wednesday, June 28th sewer repair work will begin at the intersection of Telegraph & Waverly. The intersection will be closed to all traffic. Waverly, north of Telegraph, will only be open to local traffic and a posted detour will be in place.
Work is tentatively scheduled to be completed in 10 business days.

CITY OF DAVENPORT HOLIDAY CLOSINGS – INDEPENDENCE DAY

The city of Davenport will observe Independence Day as a holiday on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed. Police Department front desk and records office will be closed. Parks and Recreation administrative offices and River’s Edge facility will be closed. Adler Theatre box office will be closed. Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed. Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed. CitiBus service will not be provided.

SCRA Funding for LED Upgrade for Sheriff’s Office Light Trailer

Scott County Regional Authority awarded the Scott County Sheriff’s Office $10,200 in the fall of 2016 to upgrade their current light trailer with 21st Century technology. This funding enabled the Sheriff’s Office to replace an outdated lighting system with new technology and provide more lighting.
