Gov. Branstad announces appointees to Iowa’s Boards and Commissions, May 2, 2017

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Terry E. Branstad today announced appointments to fill Iowa’s boards and commissions.

The following appointees’ term began yesterday on May 1, 2017, and are subject to Senate confirmation.

Architectural Examining Board:

Phil Kooima, Rock Valley

Road OPEN Notice: 52nd Ave between 310th St and 50th Ave

Road Involved: 52nd Avenue is OPEN between 310th Street and 50th Avenue

Date Opened: Friday, April 21, 2017

Description of Closure: The road was closed for a culvert replacement project over a Tributary to the Wapsipinicon River.  This project has been substantially completed and the road is open to traffic.

Life Saving Awards Presented

On Thursday, April 20, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office presented a Life Saving Award immediately following the promotional ceremony at 9:00 a.m. in the Sheriff’s Office Administrative Conference Room in the Scott County Courthouse.

Scott County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Joe Caffery and Deputy Dan Grafton are the recipients of the Life Saving Award.

Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions on 53rd at NW Blvd, Davenport

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18th, the westbound lanes of 53rd Street will be reduced from Northwest Boulevard west to Villa Drive in order for contractors to perform water service repairs.

If possible, please use an alternative route and as always, please drive safely through construction areas.
