September 8, 2017 (Des Moines, IA) – Awards totaling $1.3 million were announced today for four communities across the state. The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support community water and sewer infrastructure projects. 

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton and Scott Counties for open office hours. Jared Mullendore, Loebsack’s District Representative, will be at the following locations. Mullendore will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for Dave, or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend.

CHICAGO (Sept. 7, 2017) – Acting Secretary and State CIO Hardik Bhatt will be leaving the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) after leading the digital transformation in state government for more than two years. Hardik is returning to the private sector to lead smart cities and transportation technology business for a large multinational U.S. company.

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Illinois – (Sept. 8, 2017) On Saturday, Sept. 9, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Government Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for scheduled repairs.

Signage and barricades will be placed to inform traffic.

The downstream sidewalk will remain open throughout the duration of the work on both days but the upstream sidewalk will be closed.

City of Davenport will observe Labor Day as a holiday on Monday, September 4th 2017. City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed. Police Department front desk and records office will be closed. Parks and Recreation administrative offices will be closed. Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed. Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed. CitiBus service will not be provided. Compost Facility will be closed.

The City of Davenport Police Department will be conducting precision driving training at Credit Island Park on six different dates this fall. This training allows Davenport Officers to prepare for driving in emergency situations.

Credit Island Park will be closed from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on the scheduled training dates. Limited bike path access will be available for those utilizing the bike path through Credit Island as it connects to the trail system.
