DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 6, 2020) – Gilda’s Club Quad Cities and Iowa Cancer Specialists will host a free virtual workshop for people living with cancer and their loved ones entitled Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Treatments and Side Effects. Designed to help people understand and manage the physical and psychological side-effects of treatment, the workshop will take place on Monday, May 11, 2020, 4:30-6PM, via Zoom.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 29, 2020) — Community health and dental centers across Iowa were each awarded $20,000 for a total of $360,000 in COVID-19 response-grants from Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation. Funds awarded will help preserve access to care within Iowa’s safety-net infrastructure during this challenging time for many Iowans.

WASHINGTON DC (April 28, 2020) — On April 27, the US Food and Drug Administration provided an update on its efforts to ensure the availability of alcohol-based sanitizer to help meet the demand for hand-sanitizer during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the agency’s significant flexibility, more than 1,500 additional manufacturers have registered with the agency to produce hand sanitizer.

WASHINGTON DC (April 22, 2020) — The US Food and Drug Administration has authorized the first diagnostic test with a home collection option for COVID-19. Specifically, the FDA re-issued the emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) COVID-19 RT-PCR Test to permit testing of samples self-collected by patients at home using LabCorp’s Pixel by LabCorp COVID-19 Test home collection kit.
