DES MOINES, IOWA (June 14, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced $100 million in school safety funding to support Iowa’s 327 public school districts and 183 non-public and independent schools during a press conference with the Department of Public Safety, Department of Education and Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

JOHNSTON, IOWA (June 8, 2022) — The Des Moines Symphony's 28th Annual Yankee Doodle Pops returns to the Iowa State Capitol in a statewide broadcast for all Iowans to enjoy. Iowa PBS will provide live coverage of the popular and patriotic performance this July. The Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops will air live on Friday, July 1, 8:30PM, with an encore presentation on Sunday, July 3, 1PM.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 7, 2022) — The Davenport Public Library will host Nahant Marsh for a presentation on snakes on June 13, Fairmount, 10AM.

Many people have a fear of snakes. Learning about how snakes live can help people feel more comfortable with these scaly creatures. Staff from the Nahant Marsh Education Center will bring live snakes and participants will learn about their adaptations, diets, and habitats. This program is suitable for all ages.
