DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 7, 2022) — The Davenport Public Library will host Nahant Marsh for a presentation on snakes on June 13, Fairmount, 10AM.

Many people have a fear of snakes. Learning about how snakes live can help people feel more comfortable with these scaly creatures. Staff from the Nahant Marsh Education Center will bring live snakes and participants will learn about their adaptations, diets, and habitats. This program is suitable for all ages.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 27, 2022) -- Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the resignation of Steve Lukan, a US Navy veteran who has served as Executive Director of the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) for nearly five years. Lukan has almost twenty years of combined elected and professional service in state government and is leaving for employment in the private sector.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 27, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced a $20 million investment to help non-profit organizations in Iowa expand to meet the needs of more Iowans.

The new Nonprofit Innovation Fund will provide a competitive grant opportunity to help non-profit organizations make transformational investments in vertical infrastructure that will enable them to offer additional services or help more Iowans.
