Davenport, IA - What could be better on a cold mid-winter night than a warm evening of Mozart! The Quad City Symphony celebrates the 253rd birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with its annual Mid-Winter Chamber Music concert at the Outing Club in Davenport on Saturday, January 17, at 8 pm. The concert features Concertmaster Allen Ohmes, Associate Concertmaster Dawn Marino-Ohmes, Principal Viola Deborah Dakin, new Principal Cello Hannah Holman, and, for his first time performing cello in the Quad Cities, new Music Director Mark Russell Smith. The evening repertoire will include Mozart's Quartet in B-Flat Major and Schuberts's String Quintet in C Major.
You can turn the evening into a feast for your taste-buds as well as your ears with a pre-concert dinner at the Outing Club, available for $30. The cash bar opens at 5:30, with dinner served at 6:30. The dinner includes hearts of romaine with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers with stone ground mustard vinaigrette, tenderloin of pork with caramelized onions and Sonoma kiln-dried apricots, sweet carrot reduction, wild mushroom risotto, broccolini, and cherry bon bon with Grand Marnier crème anglaise.
