BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 27, 2023) — The Quad Cities Chamber is pleased to announce sixteen individuals have joined the second cohort of Leadership QC. Leadership QC is a program for experienced community leaders and innovative thinkers who want to enhance their leadership skills. They will meet for a full-day once a month for nine months.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 26, 2023) — In conjunction with its annual Eddy Awards, River Action is offering Eddy Scholarships to students with a commitment to environmental interests. These scholarships are funded by a grant from the Joyce and Tony Singh Family Foundation.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 25, 2023) — 1000 Friends of Iowa announced the winners of the 2023 Best Development Award winners during a ceremony at the Capitol this week. The awards honor projects that recognize connections between building and project development and quality of life. With a mission focused on responsible land use, 1000 Friends of Iowa promotes smart growth planning principles that help achieve socially, economically and environmentally sustainable communities. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 25, 2023) — The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF), the philanthropic arm of the Iowa Credit Union League, invested more than $155,000 in mission-aligned initiatives in 2022 to help champion financial well-being for all. Throughout 2022, ICUF strengthened its impact through expanded programming and continued support for credit union members and state-wide community organizations. Highlights of ICUF’s impact include:

BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 24, 2023) — Sometimes, as she thinks about her future, Lila Teitle thinks of Jayne Lee Andreseen (below). She never knew Jayne, who passed away in 2005 at the age of thirteen after a courageous battle with a rare form of pediatric cancer. But as the most recent recipient of the Jayne Lee Andreesen Memorial Scholarship, she carries Jayne’s story forward with her.

CORALVILLE, IOWA (January 18, 2023) — The Iowa Women’s Foundation presented grant funds to 23 recipients from across the state at a check presentation event on Wednesday, January 11, at the Kirkwood Regional Center in Coralville. Grantmaking serves the Foundation’s longstanding mission to shatter barriers to economic self-sufficiency faced by Iowa’s women and girls every day, and this round of grantmaking was the largest to date.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 16, 2023) — In conjunction with Martin Luther King Jr Day on January 16, 2023, Ascentra Credit Union and its foundation, the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation, has pledged to donate a total of $50,000 to the Friends of MLK (FoMLK) organization in Davenport, Iowa. This donation will help them reach their fundraising goal for the first formal memorial of Dr Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr in the City of Davenport, known as the MLK Park.
