Iowans mourn the loss of Chuck Geertz of Muscatine.

Sargent First Class Geertz was an active-duty service member for 23 years, but continued to serve his nation after his retirement in 2009.

In 2008, Chuck worked to establish the Healing at English River Outfitters or HERO organization.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 12, 2019) — Scott County Auditor Roxanna Moritz announced today that absentee ballots for the Davenport City Primary Election are available at the Auditor’s Office beginning on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

Voting in the Auditor’s Office will be 8AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday. The Auditor’s Office is located on the fifth floor of Scott County Administrative Building, 600 West 4th Street in Davenport.

WASHINGTON DC (September 11, 2019) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley’s regional directors based in Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Des Moines, Sioux City, and Waterloo will hold traveling office hours in 49 counties across Iowa throughout September and October. Iowans are invited to stop by during the scheduled hours to seek assistance regarding a personal issue with a federal agency or share concerns on matters of federal policy.

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 10, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, in honor of Patriot Day and in memory of those who lost their lives in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state.
