DES MOINES, IOWA (May 10, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds Friday announced her appointment of Dan Huitink to serve as an appointed member of the State Judicial Nominating Commission. Huitink fills the new position on the Commission that was created by the judicial selection reform legislation signed by Gov Reynolds on Wednesday.

“I believe Dan Huitink will best represent the people of Iowa in their judicial selection process,” said Gov Reynolds.

WASHINGTON DC (May 9, 2019) — The Senate Judiciary Committee today approved bipartisan legislation introduced by Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley to fix deficiencies in a federal benefit-program that are preventing first responders with certain injuries from receiving benefits intended by Congress. The Protecting America’s First Responders Act was reported today by voice-vote without opposition.

Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General Barr in contempt of Congress.

Mr Barr has been transparent.

He made the Mueller report available to them — 99 percent un-redacted in the obstruction section of that report.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds and US Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta announced a $3 million Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) for Iowa, which will provide funding to create temporary employment opportunities to assist with flood clean-up and recovery efforts.
