DES MOINES, IOWA (April 7, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement in response to the Biden Administration's newly proposed change to Title IX rules, allowing biological men to participate in women’s sports:
DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2023) — The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) has opened the application period for the annual Lieutenant Governors’ STEM Scholarship Program, sponsored by ACT, to award up to $1,000 to twelve schools nationally to support STEM-related activities for youth. Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2023, with award recipients announced and funded in Summer 2023.
DES MOINES, IOWA (April 5, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced that $8.3 million in matching grants have been awarded to assist five companies in upgrading water infrastructure at Iowa manufacturing and industrial facilities in Boone, Davenport, Dubuque, and Fort Dodge. The awards were made through Iowa’s Water Infrastructure Fund (WIF).
DES MOINES, IOWA (April 4, 2023) — Attorney General Brenna Bird joined 21 other states in a letter opposing the Biden Administration’s Department of Energy’s new regulations, which would prohibit gas stoves that do not meet the new environmental standards. This would ban the sales of over half of all currently available gas stoves.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 31, 2023) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is encouraging Iowans who receive a “No Activity” notice from his office in the mail to respond to it quickly. Registered voters who did not participate in the 2022 general election have been made inactive and will receive a notice in the mail to confirm their residential address. Those who do not respond will remain as an “inactive” status.
DES MOINES, IOWA (March 30, 2023) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate presented a National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Medallion award to Kyle Phillips, former Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office. The award is in recognition for his leadership overseeing the rollout of Fast Track Filing and his 22 years of service to the citizens of the State of Iowa. Phillips recently began to transition into a new role with the state OCIO.
