Gov Kim Reynolds Announces Staff Changes

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 21, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Friday, August 18, that Dax Oberreuter will join her administration as policy advisor for health-care and veteran’s affairs. Oberreuter most recently served as legislative liaison at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He previously held the same position for the Iowa Department on Aging and served as the agency's public information officer and planning and innovation administrator.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate Encourages Iowa State Fairgoers to Participate in Presidential Straw Poll

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 9, 2023) — Iowa State Fairgoers will once again be able to vote for their preferred presidential candidate in the Iowa Secretary of State’s State Fair Straw Poll. Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate has announced the return of the unscientific poll, which allows fairgoers to cast a vote for their favorite candidate in the presidential primary as well as their favorite fair food. Ultimately, the straw poll encourages voter registration and participation.
