Des Moines, IA – Today, the Bureau of Economic Analysis released the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth numbers for each state and found that Iowa’s GDP shrank by 0.7% in the second quarter, the worst growth numbers in the nation.

Klinger succeeds James Joseph, now with FEMA

SPRINGFIELD (Nov. 13) — Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced that he has appointed Joseph G. Klinger as acting director for the state’s Emergency Management Agency.

Klinger has worked for the state since 1988 and previously served as IEMA’s assistant director from January 2007 to May 2010, interim director from May 2010 to February 2011, and most recently as deputy director since February 2015.
