Mr President, Mr Speaker, Lieutenant Governor, legislative leaders, Senators and Representatives, justices and judges, elected officials, distinguished guests, family, friends, and my fellow Iowans.

WASHINGTON DC (January 14, 2020) — Prepared floor remarks by Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley on the results of the Taiwan election:

On Saturday, the 23 million proud people of Taiwan exercised their democratic right to select their own leaders.

I congratulate President Tsai [Ing-wen] on her reelection.

I would also like to take this moment to congratulate Taiwan for being a shining light amidst dark times in other parts of East Asia.

WASHINGTON DC (January 9, 2020) — The federal government recovered more than $3 billion in taxpayer dollars lost to fraud in 2019, using a law championed by Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley. Whistleblower claims account for more than two-thirds of those recoveries. Since its enactment in 1986, The False Claims Act is responsible for more than $62 billion in recoveries, with Sen Grassley’s whistleblower provision saving taxpayers more than $44.7 billion.
