I want to wish all Iowans a happy New Year.

As 2020 begins, I’m focused on passing the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.

I’m leading a meeting of the Finance Committee tomorrow to report out the bill, so a Senate floor vote is imminent.

WASHINGTON DC (January 6, 2020) — Representative Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton and Scott Counties for open office hours. Brian Kramer, Loebsack’s District Representative, will be at the following locations. Brian Kramer will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for Rep Loebsack, or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 6, 2020) — At the end of the 2019 calendar year, NextGen Iowa had registered 3,025 voters across the state, coming in 121 percent above the organization’s voter registration goal for 2019. The organization also collected 4,428 pledges to vote, exceeding its 2019 goal by 128 percent. These achievements are thanks to field organizers and volunteers across the state who engaged young people on college campuses, at Pride Festivals, during climate strikes, and more.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 2, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced that water-quality infrastructure projects in Davenport, DeSoto, Nora Springs, Osceola, Schleswig, and West Union have been awarded a total of $775,000 in grants. The funding is made available through the Wastewater and Drinking Water Financial Assistance Program, which was created as a part of Senate File 512, the first legislation signed into law by Gov Reynolds in January 2018.
