Reaffirms administration’s efforts to change broken system
CHAMPAIGN – Governor Bruce Rauner today toured II-VI EpiWorks and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering innovation and technology in Illinois.
The Quad Cities Astronomical Society, in partnership with Bettendorf High School, will hold a solar viewing event at the high school on Saturday, April 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
During the event, members of the Quad Cities Astronomical Society will set up telescopes that provide safe viewing of the sun near the school’s main entrance on Middle Road.

The Putnam’s new Discovery Dome will be open to the public on
Saturday, April 15 with "Flight Adventures" showing at 11 a.m, 12 p.m
and 2 p.m.
The Discovery Dome is a portable, fully immersive planetarium that uses a 360-degree projector to show earth, space, and life science topics in an entertaining, scientifically accurate and educationally inspiring manner.

(DES MOINES) – Today, Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds highlighted Iowa’s leadership in wind energy at their Monday morning press conference, citing a new report. The Governor and Lt. Governor were joined by John Boorman, Vice President of the Iowa Wind Energy Association and Doug Spoon, General Manager of TPI Composites in Newton.
Washington, D.C. – At a recent Communications and Technology Subcommittee hearing, Congressman Dave Loebsack led the call for a direct investment in expanding both fixed and mobile broadband, especially in rural areas. He also called for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide more reliable data to map and target where additional broadband access is needed.
