DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — “Ice is Nice” says the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities (FSCQC). A special public session is set for Saturday, January 18, to recognize US Figure Skating Associations (USFSA)’s National Skating Month at The River’s Edge, 700 W River Drive, in Davenport, Iowa. The “Skate with Us” ice session from 3:15-5:15PM provides a chance for the public to learn more about skating opportunities in the Quad Cities.

 

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 8, 2020) — Yesterday, the Storm and RIA Federal Credit Union presented a check in the amount of $4525 to Honor Flight of The Quad Cities. The money was raised through the Storm’s Nickelodeon Night game on December 27 and a game worn Ninja Turtle jersey auction, both of which were sponsored by RIA Federal Credit Union.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 7, 2020) — Storm forward Connor Fries has been named the SPHL’s Warrior "Player of the Week.’  It is the first player of the week honor for a Storm player in franchise history. Per the SPHL:

"The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced that Connor Fries of the Quad City Storm was named the Warrior Hockey/SPHL Player of the Week for December 30-January 5."

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 20, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits announced today they will be hosting their inaugural Charity Hot Stove Dinner on Wednesday, January 29, 5:30-8PM, at Modern Woodmen Park. The evening will consist of dinner and a silent auction and will feature an address from keynote speaker, Dayton Moore, General Manager for the Kansas City Royals. All proceeds will benefit the Genesis Philanthropy’s Family Connects program. Tickets are required.

WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN (December 17, 2019) — The N° 7 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team broke a tie with a late field goal and made a defensive stop in the closing minutes Saturday for a 35-32 victory over N° 8 St John's (Minnesota) in an instant classic semifinal game of the NCAA Division III Championship at Perkins Stadium.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (December 16, 2019) — The Stanley Cup returns to the Quad Cities for the first time in four years as the Storm celebrate Radar’s first birthday Friday, December 20, at 7PM.

The TaxSlayer Center doors will open to the general public at 6PM and the Stanley Cup will remain on display on the arena concourse until the start of the third period.

AMES, IOWA (December 13, 2019) — Adaptive Sports Iowa, a non-profit committed to providing sports and recreation opportunities for Iowans with physical disabilities, has begun generating donations through the Hy-Vee Giving Tag Program.

The Hy-Vee Giving Tag Program, which launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where customers live and work.

 

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 27, 2019) The Quad City Storm looked a little green during their game against Peoria on Friday — in a good way. As part of their annual John Deere Night, the Storm wore specially-designed John Deere jerseys that were later auctioned off to raise money for United Way of the Quad Cities.

 

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 20, 2019) — This Friday, the Quad City Storm rekindle the Cold War on 74 versus the Peoria Rivermen for John Deere Green Out Night! Fans are encouraged to wear Deere gear to "green out" the TaxSlayer Center.

 

WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN (November 19, 2019) — The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team will compete in the NCAA Division III Championship for the 13th time in the last 15 years and 16th time in program history starting this Saturday, November 23, as it hosts Monmouth (Illinois) in the first round at Perkins Stadium.

Saturday's game will kick off at 12PM.
