MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 20, 2020) — The Quad City Storm is excited to announce Storm head coach Dave Pszenczny has been signed to a two-year contract extension. In an abbreviated second season with the Storm, Pszenyczny increased the team’s winning percentage significantly and navigated the Storm in to one of eight playoff positions at year’s end.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 16, 2020) — On 15 March, The Southern Professional Hockey League out of Huntersville, North Carolina, announced its Board of Governors voted unanimously to cancel of the remainder of the 2019-2020 regular season and playoffs.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 12, 2020) — Per the SPHL:

“For the safety of our fans, players, team personnel and arena staff, the Southern Professional Hockey League today announced that due to concerns over the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, it has suspended the 2019-2020 season effective immediately. The SPHL and its member teams will continue to monitor developments over the weekend and provide an update on the 2019-2020 season in the near future.”

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 4, 2020) — The Quad City Storm is thundering into the nine final games of the regular season with two goals in mind; making the playoffs and reaching the $100,000 mark in their donations to the community.

Currently, The Storm are in a four-way battle for one of the final two playoff positions in the SPHL. This weekend, they face two of the other three teams in the aforementioned battle and with a winning weekend will be in a playoff position.

 

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 28, 2020) — The 44th Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series slides into Moline's TaxSlayer Center for one night only on Saturday, February 29, 7:30PM, bringing the fastest, toughest, and most extreme flat track motorcycle and quad racers to the ice.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (February 27, 2020) — Rowers of all ages (beginning in Kindergarten) and all skill levels, from Des Moines to Chicago, will compete in the Quad Cities Erg Showdown. Rowers will compete in the Jr 2k, Jr Lightweight, Jr Novice 2k, several 4x500 meter races, and much more. It promises to be an exciting day.

The event is free and open to the public. Snacks will be available for purchase.

First race, 8:30 a.m.  Last race, 2:30 p.m.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (January 23, 2020) — Athletes from around the state will compete in Dubuque this weekend, January 24-26, celebrating the 2020 Winter Iowa Games presented by Grinnell Mutual. Competitions will be held in 10 events at 11 venues throughout the Dubuque community.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 22, 2020) — Tuesday, January 28, the TaxSlayer Center will be open to the public from 10AM–7PM for the Storm’s Hockey Fights Cancer Ice Painting. Quad Citizens are encouraged to come to the arena to paint on the ice the names of loved ones who have fought cancer in the color that symbolizes the cancer they fought. Painting is free and the Storm will be providing paint, brushes and everything needed for painting names on the ice. 

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 21, 2020) — The Storm game that was cancelled Saturday January 11, 2020 as a result of a winter storm has been rescheduled to April 1, 2020. The game will be played against the Peoria Rivermen at 6PM at the TaxSlayer Center.
