Miranda Banks from Cheektowaga, Illinois and assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division Band received a promotion to the rank of Sergeant.

WQUD-FM 107.7 Vintage Radio’s third annual “Stuff for the Troops” drive has already shipped 228 “We Care Packages” overseas to U.S. Troops serving in all branches of our military in appreciation of their service this holiday season. A project that started small has grown to raise over $10,000 in monetary and item donations and will reach this year’s goal of sending over ONE TON of goods to the troops this year.

– In honor of Veterans Day, Bereskin Gallery & Art Academy offers a slideshow tour of four European countries and locations familiar to World War II veterans. Landscape photographer Barry Sharp returns to the Quad Cities for a special presentation that contrasts historical and contemporary photos. (DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to fly at half-staff from sunrise on Oct. 6 to sunset on Oct. 7, 2018. Flags will fly at half-staff Saturday, Oct. 6, to honor a fallen soldier and Sunday, Oct. 7, for the Fallen Firefighters Memorial service.

On Wednesday, Aug 29th, Hy-Vee is hosting a pre-flight dinner for these veterans, a guest and their guardians.
