On July 21, Figge Art Museum members are invited to learn more about one of the most iconic visual artists of the 20th century in the virtual presentation Discovering Warhol: An Evening with Donald Warhola, a special event in which one of Warhol's nephews will talk about his personal connection with “Uncle Andy,” the man's artistic process and legacy, and the Warhol works currently on display in the museum's popular exhibition POP Power from Warhol to Koons.

Through January 9, Davenport's German American Heritage Center will house an informative and fascinating display on an early-20th-century Art Nouveau style in Jugendstil: Art for All, an exhibit devoted to artisans determined to explore new mediums, share artistic ideas with fellow artists, and establish the foundation for Bauhaus, Art Deco, and other artistic movements.

Beautiful colors, gorgeous designs, and objects of opulence will all be explored in the latest virtual presentation hosted by Davenport's German American Heritage Center, with Ann L. Koski's July 18 program Lush Beauties: Art Nouveau Jewelry examining famed jewelers such as Lalique, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Liberty of London, as well as the intricacies of Germany's Jugendstil Art Nouveau movement.

At the Quad City Arts International Airport Gallery, the second half of 2021 is being jump-started with vibrant explosions of color and varied artistic mediums that can be found in a trio of new exhibitions on display through August 30: exhibits of ceramic works by Will Van Dyke, paintings by Anne Kauf, and textiles by Kara Fedje.

Human figures, evocative colors, and a new yet familiar Quad Cities landmark are among the visuals showcased in the latest exhibitions at Rock Island's Quad City Arts Center, with the venue, through August 13, highlighting new paintings by Port Byron's Laura Vincent-Arnold in Internal Landscapes and Bettendorf's John Born in Bridging the Divide.

Large-scale photographs from the Museum of Wisconsin Art and a beloved painting from the Figge Art Museum's collection will be among the conversation topics in the Figge's laest virtual presentation, with Wisconsin artist Tom Uttech, July 1, discussing his process and his works in the Davenport venue's current exhibition Origin.

Glorious colors and imaginative designs will be gracing the pavement of Rock Island's Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Quad City Arts' 2021 Chalk Art Fest, a June 26 and 27 weekend featuring live music, children's activities, food and drink vendors, and cash prizes, plus, eventually, the recognizable visage of rock legend David Bowie.

One of the most expansive exhibitions in the Davenport venue's recent history, with the works on display numbering well over 100, POP Power from Warhol to Koons will enjoy an engagement at the Figge Art Museum through September 19, treating patrons to explosions of color, unforgettable imagery, and specific artistic visions that have continued to capture the public imagination for more than 50 years.

The talents of a gifted painter with two masters degrees from the University of Iowa will be showcased in the latest exhibition at the Figge Art Museum, with the Davenport venue, through September 26, housing the exhibition Franklin Evans: Franklinsfootpaths, an installation that will explore elements of Evans' personal history in Iowa while also encouraging new ways of experiencing the Quad Cities museum.

A chat between two gifted artists and a sneak preview of a forthcoming exhibit are on the docket in a June 10 virtual program hosted by the Figge Art Museum, with the Davenport venue presenting New York artist Franklin Evans in a webinar conversation with local artist and University of Iowa professor Laurel Farrin, an event that will find the pair discussing their art practices, the materials they use, and the humor they find in making art.
