An annual fine-art showcase involving students in the Department of Digital Art and Design at the University of Dubuque, The Edge Show is the latest exhibition at the institution's Bisignano Art Gallery, this celebration of dazzling young talent on display through April 10.

The newly created Davenport Municipal Art Gallery opened its doors to the public in October of 1925. Fourteen thousand people – a fifth of Davenport’s population – visited the gallery on West Fifth Street near Main in its first three months. Charles August Ficke’s initial gift of 270 traditional European, Asian, and Mexican paintings to the city of Davenport created the momentum and need for a municipal gallery, one of the earliest in America.

This spring, the Figge Art Museum's Katz Gallery will be transformed into an oasis within the museum with the Davenport venue's new Sculpture Garden, providing a space for contemplation, mindfulness, and relaxation through June 23.

On April 11, area art lovers are invited to celebrate the Figge Art Museum's popular 43rd Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition through a series of quickfire presentations from a selection of featured regional artists, the exhibit boasting 62 works - paintings, sculptures, installations, and more - by 42 artists living within a 200-mile radius of the Quad Cities.

Nearly 200 works by gifted student artists will be on display at Rock Island's Quad City Arts Center through April 25 in the expansive 47th Annual High School Art Invitational, a glorious celebration of local talent featuring the Quad Cities’ most promising artists expressing themselves through paintings, drawings, sculpture, paper, recycled materials, and film.

On March 28, guests of Davenport's Figge Art Museum are invited to celebrate the closing of the popular exhibit Tradition Interrupted through a special "Last Chance" exhibition tour, which will provide an up-close examination of this fascinating selection of 23 artworks created by 12 artists from around the world - creative talents who firmly believe that everyday objects have the power to evoke memories and inspire emotions.

With the exhibition boasting gorgeous and arresting images from a place the native Iowan considers a second home, the University of Dubuque's Bisignano Art Gallery will house Donegal Days: Recent Photographs by Noah Bullock through 29, the showcase boasting 40 images taken in a county located in Ireland’s remote northwest.

At the crest of Brady Street Hill are monumental busts of the founder and developers of the Palmer College of Chiropractic. At their center is an imposing bronze with these words: “Dr. Daniel David Palmer, Discover and Founder, 1845-1913.”

With each artist capturing the natural world in abstraction and their works complementing one another through color and texture. a trio of gifted Iowa artists combines their talents in the Quad City Arts International Airport Gallery's new exhibition Ciccotti, Davis, & Stewart, a showcase on display through April 22 boasting glass vessels by Art Ciccotti, paintings by Larry Davis, and pastels by Deb Stewart.

In celebration of National Quilt Day on March 16, Davenport's Figge Art Museum will showcase a number of colorful and hand-crafted functional artworks in the March 12 through 17 Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild Exhibition: Art Inspires Quilting, with a special Appreciation Night for the exhibit's gifted artisans scheduled for March 14.
