DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 12, 2019) — Turn your memories into a memoir by writing the history of your life one story at a time. Darrell Lietz will be teaching the skills necessary to begin writing your own memoir during a six-week class at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) beginning April 2 at 1:30PM.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 4, 2019) — Learn about water pollution with Green Iowa AmeriCorps! Join us March 25 at 6PM at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) for an introduction to water pollution with an emphasis on the Mississippi River as well as a tutorial with water kits.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — The program “Where Does Your Trash Go?” scheduled today, February 25, at 6PM, has been cancelled. The presenter, who is travelling from Minnesota, will not reach Davenport today due to poor road conditions. There are no plans to reschedule at this time.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — Will your chef skills impress the judges? Teens (ages 11-19) are invited to compete in the Teen Master Foodie Challenge on March 16 at 2PM at Fairmount (3000 N Fairmount St). Teens can enter as individuals or in teams of two in a mystery ingredient challenge where everyone is given 30 minutes to create a delicious dish using only provided ingredients and utensils.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — Come kick off spring break with live-action Candyland on Saturday, March 9 at 2PM at Fairmount (3000 N Fairmount St).

QUAD CITIES (February 21, 2019) — Thanks to the efforts of the Davenport Public Library, in partnership with the Rock Island Public Library, award-winning author Jason Reynolds will be speaking in Davenport on March 28 and Rock Island on March 29.

This exhibit was created as a result of the creative collaboration between the Iowa Center for the Book and the University of Iowa Center for the Book. The Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center hosts this "hands-on" exhibit which showcases historically accurate replicas of the book throughout history.
