Niabi Zoo Passes Now Available at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — The Library is excited to announce that we have added an exciting new Community Experience Pass. Now available to patrons at each of our three locations are Niabi Zoo Passes! Each pass is checked out for one week and admits up to two adults and four children. The Niabi Zoo opens on May 18, so hurry in and get your passes!

Homebrew School at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — The Library welcomes the MUGZ Club for a complete homebrewing demonstration, from grain to glass. Join us Saturday, May 4, at 1PM at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) for this unique class that will emphasize equipment and technique for the absolute beginner. If you can boil water, you can brew!

The class will be held outside, so please call the library at 563-326-7832 if the weather is poor.

Community Shred Day at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 9, 2019) — The Davenport Public Library is partnering with Oelerich, Reiling, & Miller PC and Shred-It to present Community Shred Day on Thursday, May 2, 1-3PM. Bring your documents (3 containers maximum) to the Eastern Avenue Branch (6000 Eastern Ave) and they will be confidentially shredded on-site.

Juvenile Materials Go Fine-Free in the Library

At the City Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the announcement was made that all Juvenile Materials in the Davenport Public Library will be deemed fine-free beginning April 8, to kick off National Library Week.

Davenport Public Library to Host Lecture Series “The Middle East Today: Is There Hope for a Better Future?”

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 19, 2019) — Professor and historian Art Pitz will be presenting his annual Middle East lecture series at the Davenport Public Library and Bettendorf Public Library in April and May. Pitz will be discussing the complexities and hot-button topics relating to the Middle East, beginning with “Iran versus Saudi Arabia: What's at Stake? at the Bettendorf Library (2950 Learning Campus Dr) on Monday, April 1, at 6:30PM.
