Figge Art to Go for Adults at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — Interested in art? Join educators from the Figge Art Museum on Monday, June 10, 6PM, at Main (321 N Main St) as they highlight their latest exhibit featuring artist Vanessa German, who creates sculptures from found objects. An activity based on the exhibition will follow the presentation. Registration is required.

Help us celebrate Sir Paul McCartney coming to the Quad Cities with a family dance party Saturday, June 8, at 2PM at the Main Library (321 N Main St) featuring the classic music of the Fab Four! We will be grooving and moving with a few stories thrown in for kicks (and grown-up rest time!) In this world, there is nothing we would rather do because we are happy just to dance with you!

Literary Trivia at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — Join us Monday, June 24, at 6PM at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) and impress everyone with your knowledge of Literary Trivia! Questions will be based on the Great American Reads list of 100 favorite novels. Participants may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Prizes awarded for best team-name and table decorations. Registration of teams up to 8 members is required.

Art on the Spot! at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 16, 2019) — Help us kickoff Summer Reading by designing your own spot in the Library! Join us Thursday, June 6, 4PM, at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) and design a circle, leave it with us, and we will add it to our ongoing summer projects that will be on display at all three buildings.

If you can't make it to the program, don't worry! We'll have circles available at the desk for you to decorate throughout June and July!

Coding Club at Davenport Public Library

Girls Who Code at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 14, 2019) — “Girls Who Code” is an afterschool club for girls in 6th through 12th grade who are interested in coding. The club encourages beginners to explore coding in a fun and friendly environment.

This program takes place at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) every Tuesday through July beginning June 4 at 3PM. Registration is required.

Summer Reading Blast Off: Space, Donuts, & More! at Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 11, 2019) — Join us as we blast off into “A Universe of Stories” for the 2019 Summer Reading Program! Kick off the fun on Friday, June 7, at 7PM at our Eastern Avenue Branch (6000 Eastern Ave) to check out the Mississippi Bend AEA’s Star Lab, study the skies with the Popular Astronomy Club, enjoy space crafts and activities, and more! The library will be open late for this special after-hours event.
