DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 26, 2020) — People impacted by cancer and their loved ones are invited to join us Thursday, March 26, 6– 8PM, at Main (321 N Main St) as we learn what kids know about this condition at different ages, how to talk about cancer, tips for answering common questions, ways to help your child, and additional resources. This free workshop focuses on building awareness about how to carry out conversations about cancer diagnosis and treatment.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 13, 2020) — Are you curious about what goes on behind the camera or the TV news-gathering process? Join us for another QC-Made tour as we learn in person at WHBF/KGCW/KLJB Studios.

We will meet at the WHBF/KGCW/KLJB Studios (231 18th St, Rock Island, IL) on Wednesday, March 11, at 3PM. Ramp parking is available at 16th St and 3rd Ave.

Space is limited and registration is required. Children must be supervised by an adult.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 25, 2019) — Alzheimer's is not normal aging. It is a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. On Wednesday, November 20, 6:30PM, at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave), the Library will host Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia, an education program presented by the Alzheimer's Association.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 25, 2019) — Every Tuesday in November, the Library invites kids ages 8 and up to Show Me the Monet! Learn about different artists each week and create a piece of art based on their style. We'll read books about artists and make masterpieces using a variety of media. The program begins November 5, 3:30PM, at Fairmount (3000 N Fairmount St). Registration is required.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 25, 2019) — Join us to celebrate the beginning of NaNoWriMo on Saturday, November 2, 3PM, at Fairmount. National Novel Writing Month is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that believes your story matters. They provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds — on and off the page.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 27, 2019) — Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Davenport Public Library (Main) by exploring a collection of materials documenting local Hispanic life in the Quad Cities. The exhibit highlights a collection on loan from a local resident and materials from the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center.  Learn about the cultural, social, and historical experiences of this vibrant community through newspaper articles, textiles, photographs, and more.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 17, 2019) — The Davenport Public Library will be collecting school supplies to distribute to area youth at the Fairmount Block Party on August 17. If you are interested in donating, you may drop off your items to any Davenport Library Branch during hours of operation. It is the hope to have enough supplies so that all children in attendance at the party will be able to take home supplies to be better prepared for school.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 26, 2019) — The Davenport Public Library is now providing patrons the ability to stream up to 3 hours of music each day as part of its online music offerings. This enhancement is in addition to the 5 songs per week that patrons can download from Freegal Music Service, music they can keep that is free and legal (Freegal).

Come see some of your favorite vehicles as we partner with Davenport Police Department, Davenport Fire Department, and City of Davenport Public Works for Touch a Truck.
