MOLINE, ILLINOIS (June 15, 2020) — Representatives of area Illinois businesses across multiple industries gathered Monday to share personal experiences of continued long-term closure on their companies. They also encouraged Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to allow more businesses to re-open sooner to help mitigate the long-term economic impact on Illinois businesses as they fall further behind Iowa.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (June 10, 2020) — The Quad Cities Chamber has partnered with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) to offer ten students limited, no-cost access into their Manufacturing Awareness Program “25 in 25.”

The 90-day free online-training program provides full access to self-paced learning modules for exploring and earning certifications toward a career in manufacturing. It includes 25 different courses, each lasting no more than one hour.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 29, 2020) — The annual Red, White, and Boom fireworks display in downtown Davenport and Rock Island has been rescheduled for July 3, 2021.

“Red, White, and Boom always has been a bi-state event, and in the spirit of regionalism, we felt it was the right thing to do to move the event to a time when both states can participate,” said Jason Gilliliand, Events Director for the Downtown Davenport Partnership. “We look forward to an epic event in 2021.”

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 7, 2020) — The Downtown Davenport Partnership, a division of the Quad Cities Chamber, today announced changes to Street Fest to be held July 24-25, 2020. Instead of hosting a large festival on 2nd Street in Davenport, the event will encourage people to support downtown businesses that normally benefit from the festival’s foot traffic by shopping, eating, drinking, playing and, in the case of hotels, staying in downtown.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 6, 2020) — The Downtown Davenport Partnership, a division of the Quad Cities Chamber, has organized a special local shopping drive-thru event featuring specials at multiple downtown Davenport businesses, 1-4PM, Saturday, May 9. Shoppers are strongly encouraged to place orders at businesses in advance of the event in order to be able to pick-up curbside or via drive-thru while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
