DES MOINES, IOWA (August 29, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the opening of a temporary school facility for students in the Rock Valley Community School District (RVCSD).

The 7,000-square-foot modular school, built by Hegg Construction, will house 150 middle-school RVCSD students in six classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and a common area. The facility is fitted with wireless Internet and smart boards.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 20, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the first round of awards through the State Disaster Recovery New Housing Grant Program. More than $7.2 million has been awarded to support the construction of 175 single-family and multi-family homes across eleven projects in disaster-impacted communities, including Cherokee, Crescent, Minden, Rock Rapids, Rock Valley, and Spencer.
