The Way We Live Award, in its 11th year of recognizing outstanding farm-families, will identify six Iowa families who exemplify hard-working farm values and a love for the occupation of farming. So far, the Way We Live Award has been given to 63 well-deserving Iowa families.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 31, 2019) — The Iowa State Fair will celebrate the 90th birthday of Baby Mine at the 2019 Fair in the form of a concrete statue contest. Baby Mine was a baby elephant that 15,000 Iowa children helped sponsor and name by sending in nearly $1,000 in nickels and dimes. Baby Mine debuted at the 1929 Fair and 25,000 children showed up the first day of the Fair to meet it. A replica of Baby Mine is located in Fun Forest near the children's train and playground.

Reserve Champion Bull went to 6B Farms from Parkersburg.

Studer Shorthorns of Creston took home the Premier Breeder and the Premier Exhibitor honors.

FFA Exhibitors Compete for Supreme Breeding Beef Honors at the Iowa State Fair

Hannah Mitchell of Lenox won the Reserve Supreme Female title.
