January 2, 2018 - The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds will host a first-ever, two-day St. Patrick’s Day party in March

Davenport, Iowa – Top bands playing a variety of music, skydivers dressed as leprechauns, a great selection of good food and plenty of green beer. All of that will be part of a giant, two-day St. Patrick’s Day party planned for the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds (MVF) in March.

Learn cutting-edge techniques that will help you catch more crappie by enrolling in Crappie University at Black Hawk College in Moline.

The program consists of four, two-hour evening classes from Feb. 15 to March 7. The course is offered early in the year to prepare anglers to pursue crappie year-round, learning the seasonal patterns of when, where and how to catch them at all times.

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Family Resources’ anti-human trafficking program Braking Traffik will host several events throughout January for Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Events include presentations of the documentary Any Kid Anywhere, community awareness events and delivery of baked goods to law enforcement agencies by staff.

Dec. 29, 2017 (DAVENPORT, Iowa) — The new year brings fresh opportunities for youngsters to explore the Putnam Museum and learn about engineering and environmental sciences through interactive classes.

Pre-registration has opened for the Putnam Museum and Science Center’s first Explorers and Explorers Jr. classes of 2018, which start on Jan. 6 and continue during the first Saturdays of each month through April 7.

Local artists will present a check for $1,700 to Quad City Arts’ Metro Youth Apprenticeship Program at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Quad City Arts’ Rock Island Gallery, 1715, 2nd Ave., Rock Island.  This donation comes from the proceeds of the recent sale of Dean Timmermann’s drawings.
