Moline, IL. – December 4, 2017 – TOGO UPRISINGQC, a group of Togolese Americans, mostly first-generation immigrants in the Quad Cities, will host a fundraising dinner on Saturday, December 9 th , 2017 at 5:30 pm at Believers Together Center of Christ the King Catholic Church – 3209 60 th Street – in Moline.

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces that the state’s voter registration totals are at the highest mark in the state’s history for a December prior to an election year. New data shows 1,991,419 active registered voters in Iowa.

CHICAGO (Dec. 3, 2017) — Today, Gov. Bruce Rauner and leaders of the Illinois Bicentennial Commission officially kicked off the state’s yearlong 200th birthday celebration at Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier. Illinois Bicentennial will pay tribute to the people, places, and things that are being BORN, BUILT & GROWN in the nation’s fifth most populous state.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Patrick McElyea on Friday as district court judge in the Seventh Judicial District. McElyea will fill the judicial seat formerly held by Judge Paul L. Macek.

McElyea, of Davenport, received his law degree from Drake University Law School and his undergraduate degree from Central College. He currently serves as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Iowa.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley’s regional director based in Davenport, Penny Vacek, will hold office hours in Van Buren and Davis counties on Monday, December 11, 2017, and in Clinton, Scott and Jackson counties on Friday, December 15.   Vacek’s schedule is as follows:
