Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack today introduced legislation that builds on current public-private partnership efforts to ensure our veterans have the skills necessary to seamlessly enter the workforce after they return home. The Veterans Employment Training (VET) Act would provide grants to encourage local businesses and community colleges to offer our veterans the training needed to be successful in newly created jobs.

"We are looking for the legislature to come together to make some changes in juvenile laws," Scott County Sheriff Tim Lane says.

Those changes include harsher penalties for kids who steal cars.

After a few more meetings, the bill will be drafted by State Senator Roby Smith (R) 47th Dist.
