A grants submission deadline has been announced by the Moline Foundation. Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply if they serve the citizens of Moline and the surrounding region, including the Quad Cities region.

DAVENPORT, IA - On August 29, 2017, Leroy Lynell Grandberry, 30, of Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced by Chief United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey to 36 months in prison for felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel. Grandberry was ordered to serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment and to pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

August 28, 2017 – Iowa City, Iowa – EXEPERIENCE the glitz and glamour of New York this Fall as Iowa City Community Theatre presents MAME, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee, directed by Richard Tiegs, with musical direction by Wes Habley.

Kids, ages two to seven, can train to become mini art masters starting in September at the Muscatine Art Center. The new program replaces Art for Tots which was geared toward preschool aged children. Mini Masters opens up the opportunity for kids through first grade to join in creating art. “This past summer I had quite a few kids return after kindergarten asking to join Tots class,” says Muscatine Art Center Program Coordinator, Teresa Stenstrup.

This Labor Day (Monday, September 4), first responders in your area will be recognized with special lunch.

All of Olive Garden’s 800 restaurants nationwide will deliver and serve a special “thank you” lunch to a first responder organization in their community. This is the 16th consecutive year that Olive Garden has coordinated this nationwide effort.

This past weekend, Hurricane Harvey devastated Texans with flooding, high winds, and heavy rains. As many as 30,000 may be forced into shelters and 450,000 are likely to seek some form of disaster relief as more rain continues to fall.
