AMES, IA (08/11/2017)-- The College of Human Sciences awarded scholarships to members of the incoming freshman class in support of their Iowa State University adventure during the 2017-2018 school year.

 

Kaitlyn Collins of Davenport, IA (52806), who is studying Apparel, Merchandising, and Design, will receive the TC Scholarship

$1.5 million grant supports new computer science programs
 
SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 11, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner applauded a 4-H and Google.org collaboration that will support new computer science education programs in Illinois and throughout the nation. Google executives announced the partnership and granted $1.5 million to 4-H today during a ceremony at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.

Ribbon cutting starts showcase of agricultural achievements by generations of Illinois families

SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 10, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner opened the 2017 Illinois State Fair today with the official ribbon cutting ceremony at the state fairgrounds in Springfield.

Bettendorf — The Family Museum will host an Eclipse Viewing Party on Monday, August 21. Activities will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with eclipse viewing from 1:00 – 1:30 pm, weather permitting. Visitors will make a special piece of art with rays from the sun, do an orbit dance, attempt to make their own eclipse, meet an astronomer, and take a look at the sun with a solar telescope.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley and Sen. Ron Wyden are asking the Trump administration to add the topic of individuals with disabilities to discussions on promoting apprenticeships.  The president in June established a task force on apprenticeship expansion to “identify and provide a report on strategies and proposals to promote apprenticeships.”
