Rock Island, IL - April 14, 2017: The Rock Island Public Library will offer two free "Money Smart" events to help Quad Citians locate unclaimed assets and protect their identities against theft. Rock Island Library and other Money Smart Week partners will offer financial literacy events during Money Smart Week Quad Cities, April 22 -29, 2017.

Rock Island, IL: Just in time for Shakespeare's upcoming birthday, the great Bard of Avon gets the improv treatment at the Rock Island Public Library on Thursday, April 20.

Shakespeared, which consists of Shakespearean improvisational comedy from Guys in Ties of Comedy Sportz, Rock Island, will be presented at 6:00 pm in the Rock Island Main Library Community Room, 401 19th Street. The rollicking improvisational romp in the style of Shakespeare is provided at no charge.

Sterling community encouraged to give blood

STERLING, Ill. (April 17, 2017) — An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in memory of Jen Banks on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Washington Elementary School, 815 W. LeFevre in Sterling.

Banks passed away in 2015 after an automobile accident. She had received numerous blood transfusions during treatment in effort to save her life.
