ANKENY, IOWA (December 19, 2025) — The Iowa Biodiesel Board is urgently calling on the US Environmental Protection Agency to finalize the 2026-2027 Renewable Fuel Standard rule by January 31, 2025. The agency has said that any delay into February or March would push compliance to June, a move the IBB says would create a catastrophic gap that Iowa's independent, farmer-owned biodiesel plants may not be able to survive.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 19, 2025) — The State Historical Society of Iowa and the University of Iowa have announced a new agreement that will maintain public access to the state’s historical collections.

Public access will now be maintained by the University of Iowa Libraries.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 19, 2025) — During the 2025 Iowa Legislative Session, Defend the Guard legislation was introduced in both the Iowa House and the Iowa Senate. Had these bills been enacted, they would have required the United States Congress to fulfill its constitutional duty by issuing a formal declaration of war before Iowa National Guard troops could be deployed into active combat zones overseas.
