MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (January 23, 2024) — During a career spent working in the restaurant/food service industry, Amber Dawson came to a conclusion a few years ago while employed in the Rocky Mountain state.

"I realized that higher education is where my heart lies," said Dawson, who, at the time, was in the midst of a seven-year stint with Bon Appetit Catering at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (January 23, 2024) — More than 7,900 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the dean's list for the 2023 fall semester. Dean's List status was earned by 1,810 first year undergraduates during the 2023 fall semester at Iowa, 1,773 second year students, 1,940 third year students, and 2,458 fourth year students.

Guidelines for inclusion on the list are:

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 22, 2024) — On Friday, January 19, Governor Kim Reynolds announced her appointment of Michael Harris as a district judge in Judicial District 6.

Harris, of Iowa City, Iowa, is an Assistant Linn County Attorney. He received his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Iowa.

Harris fills a vacancy created following the retirement of the Hon. Fae Hoover. Judicial District 6 includes Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Tama counties.
