PELLA, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Hailey Glover of Eldridge, Iowa, is one of 36 students in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Central College for the 2022-23 academic year. Glover plays the Euphonium. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is an auditioned instrumental group and one of the premier ensembles on campus. Brad Kampe, lecturer of music, is the new band director.

The A CapPELLA Choir started at Central in 1932 and is the oldest continuing music ensemble on campus.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — The 31st Annual East Central Iowa Northwestern Illinois AFL-CIO Hall of Fame Banquet, hosted by the Quad City Federation of Labor, will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Isle Casino Hotel, 1888 Isle Parkway, Bettendorf IA. Cocktail hour with a cash bar will be 5:30–6:45PM and the Vietnam Veterans Honor Guard 669 Rock Island Chapter will begin the banquet promptly at 7PM.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 14, 2022) — Monmouth's 2022-23 Maple Leaf Community Concert Series will continue October 18 with a pair of performances at Monmouth College by Backtrack, a five-person a cappella group based in New York City.

Backtrack will sing at 1:30PM, October 18, in a special matinee performance in Dahl Chapel and Auditorium. The group will return to the Dahl stage at 7PM, the traditional time for concert series performances.
