DES MOINES, IOWA (May 19, 2023) — State Treasurer Roby Smith presented Quad City Bank and Trust with a check for their unclaimed funds from the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt. The Running Wild Mile will be held at 4PM on Memorial Day in the Village of East Davenport. Runners will compete for $600 in cash prizes. There will be Men’s and Women’s divisions with first ($150), second ($100), and third ($50) in both divisions. We have some extra time in the schedule and thought the area’s well known and very talented running community should be given a shot on the course.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 19, 2023) — Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 2.7 percent in April from 2.8 percent in March while the state’s labor force added 4,300 new workers. The total number of Iowans with jobs increased to 1,681,400 in April, up 5,800 from the month before.

In comparison, the US unemployment rate dropped to 3.4 percent in March.
