PELLA, IOWA (May 4, 2022) — Central College hosted a weeklong Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry event to showcase the many projects by Central students during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Rachel Daniels, of Geneseo, presented The Effect of Wingate Testing on BESS Test Performance.

Clayton Hunn of Muscatine received the Lewis and Dorothy Furda Scholarship in Music and the T Kent Jager Endowed Music Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year for a high commitment to academic achievement. Hunn is a member of the class of 2022 at Central in Pella, Iowa.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 3, 2022) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate will present the 2022 Carrie Chapman Catt Award to four high schools this week. The award goes to any school that registers at least 90% of eligible students to vote. All four schools surpassed the mark during the 2021-22 school year.

This is Ballard High School’s third time winning the award. West Marshall, Collins-Maxwell and Ar-We-Va are each qualifying for the first time.

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (May 3, 2022) — Linda Wilson of Davenport, Iowa, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Wilson was initiated at Kansas State University.
