DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 31, 2025) — Eastern Iowa Community College, in collaboration with the American Association of University Women (AAUW), is pleased to announce two upcoming legislative forums designed to foster open dialogue and collaboration among community members and legislators.

The first forum will take place on Saturday, February 8, 10AM-12PM, with a social time 10-10:30AM. The event will be held at the Belmont Campus of Eastern Iowa Community College.

Ken Ludwigs' Dear Jack, Dear Louise is a Valentine to his parents. It tells their love story through their correspondence during World War II.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 30, 2025) — Bettendorf Community School District elementary schools are hosting Bring a Grown-Up to School Night, 5:30-7PM. Elementary students will bring parents, guardians, and special adult guests to experience their school day. Students will guide their guests to classes, introduce them to teachers and staff, and share the unique activities they do each day. It will be a wonderful evening of connection and learning!

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 29, 2025) — 1000 Friends of Iowa announced today the release of the Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment (VRUSA) Comparison Report. Created through a collaborative effort by Midwest non-profits within the RE-AMP network, this report examines how state departments of transportation are improving their efforts to ensure the safety of people who walk, bike, and roll on our streets. The findings aim to drive meaningful change and safer road conditions for all.
